BEAUTIFICATION

As always, May and June were very busy months for Beautification! Many thanks to all of the Beautification Committee Members and other Volunteers for sprucing up our Community Gardens at Seasongood, Marion, Dana Triangle, Washington and more! They look amazing! Special shout outs to Mary Piper who works very hard on her new flower bed at Asmann and Victory and who consistently picks up litter on Asmann each day she works at that bed. We owe Mary a great deal of thanks for her passion for gardening and her initiative in creating new gardens where there were once just weeds and debris. And to Richard Jackson for his generous monetary donations to our Beautification Committee and the amazing gardens he cares for and continually improves upon, including new community gardens at the Round-about and Marion, not to mention the long standing efforts of spectacular gardens at Dana Triangle! Richard thank you for your generosity always and thank you for your beautiful flower beds for everyone to enjoy!

Save the Date 9/16/17. We have been informed that Xavier University will be having a community action day on 9/16/17, and they would like to partner again with North Avondale. We need community volunteers to sign up to work with Xavier to help clean up our streets. Meeting place and time will be determined and announced in August.

Also, the Park is in need of some people who want to volunteer in Seasongood Square Park. There are some spaces in the park that are in need of some TLC. Some beds need to get attention now. Please do let me know if you want to adopt a garden or can volunteer for the special projects by contacting me at .

Thank you,

Emily Harten Beautification Chair
