Green Up/Clean Up Day at Martin Luther King Park, Seasongood Park and the Marion Triangle.
On Saturday April 25th from 9am to noon.
- We will be working on Seasongood Park and Martin Luther King Park and the Marion triangle. We will be cleaning fence lines of leaves, spreading playground mulch, at MLK the same plus the mulberry beds will be cleaned out, the wild brush along the backside of MLK needs to be cleaned up too. Some of the Avondale Youth Council may be able to help.
- Also, I have a dumpster to be delivered on Asmann Avenue so that the hillside can be cleaned up, trash removal, shrubs, tires, etc. Some can go along Reading Road and pick up along the way to the dumpster. Some may want to venture along the golf course on Reading Road. I have clearance to use the parking lot at the old Armory on Reading Road. We may have a group of volunteers from the business that now occupies the armory.
- The Sickle Cell parking lot that is at Dana Ave and Reading Road will be a trash pick-up site.
We ask that everyone sign in at Seasongood Park, wear proper shoes and clothing, grab a quick bite, work until 11:30, clean up and have pizza at noon. Please please try to bring a volunteer or two with you on our neighborhood clean-up day. I have contacted XU and some parochial schools and private schools too for our clean-up day. I am in need of some coordinators for this day. Please contact me directly at 608-2987, Emily Harten.
Together we make a difference.
