DESCRIPTION:Please please plan to attend the Master Plan meeting Thursday\, February 1\, 2024\, 7:00 PM at the North Avondale Recreation Center to hear our guest speaker\, Beth Johnson\, Executive Director of the Cincinnati Preservation Association. Beth comes to CPA from her position as the Urban Conservator for the City of Cincinnati\, a position she held for more than six years. She also worked in preservation and planning for the City of Covington\, KY as well as the cities of San Antonio and Austin\, TX. Johnson is a graduate of Ball State University where she received a degree in Urban Planning and History with a minor in Historic Preservation. She received her Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation planning from Cornell. \n\n\n\nThe master plan team is meeting on the first Thursdays of each month. Anyone with planning or outreach experience would be a great fit for this group. Meetings run monthly.  \n\n\n\nThe North Avondale Master Plan was originally written in 1974 and the North Avondale Reading Rd. Urban Design in 1995. The new project team will be working with City of Cincinnati planner\, Gabrielle “Abby” Couch\, and other members of or community to revise/update the plan which can be reviewed at https://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/planning/neighborhood-plans/approved-plans/. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, please email nana@northavondalecincinnati.com.

SUMMARY:The Art of Perseverance - Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Art can also be armor in the brutal space of war! To support Ukraine\, the artist from Ohio\, painting researcher and inventor of her own style of drip art Clara Harkavy is organizing the event “THE ART OF PERSEVERANCE – UKRAINE”. This is an exhibition of paintings by ten artists that will last for 3 weeks to raise money for the needs of Ukrainian citizens. \n\n\n\nFor a year and more than 7 months\, Ukraine has been resisting Russian aggression on its land and courageously liberating the occupied territories. Although the forces of the armies are unequal\, it is precisely thanks to the support of the world that Ukrainians have something to defend their home. Supporting the Second Front – the rear\, even if it is across the ocean\, is valuable because it strengthens the most important thing – the morale of Ukrainians. At the same time\, artists add deep meaning to this with their creative work. \n\n\n\nTo make the artistic event more effective for the sake of reliable and immediate assistance\, the artists teamed up with the charity organization Help Heroes of Ukraine\, which was founded in Chicago at the beginning of the war. To date\, the fund has delivered $61 million worth of aid (humanitarian\, military\, medical\, etc.) to Ukraine. As a result\, Help Heroes of Ukraine took 1st place in the “Help from abroad” nomination at the “Charity Ukraine” competition. \n\n\n\nTherefore\, the funds collected at the exhibition will go to their destination as quickly as possible. Join our campaign! Meetings will run monthly through September 2023.  \n\n\n\nCity of Cincinnati city planner\, Gabrielle “Abby” Couch will be assisting the North Avondale master plan team and process going forward. Abby will be joining the meeting for the first time at the September meeting. \n\n\n\nThe North Avondale Master Plan was originally written in 1974 and the North Avondale Reading Rd. Urban Design in 1995.
