Elsa T. ZumBrook, (Dakota Ave.) born on August 14, 1939 in Mexico City, to the late María Luisa Marquet and the late Friedrich ZumBrook, passed away at age 79 on October 29, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio, after a short illness. She attended the Alexander von Humboldt School and was a graduate of the National Institute of Cardiology, in Mexico City. She was a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital until retiring in 2004. Elsa is survived by her son, Juan Carlos; daughter, Adriana, and son-in-law Andrew; and grandchildren Sofia, Trevor, Nathan, and Max; and niece Beatriz and nephew Victor. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Elsa loved music, cooking, her pet Golden Retrievers and she could often be seen walking “Menina” and “Lily,” never failing to distribute treats as the neighborhood dogs will attest. A resident of North Avondale since 1965, she was an active member of NANA, and was beloved by her community of neighbors. She cultivated a wide circle of friends at Clinton Hills Swim Club and beyond, and was treasured for the jams and cookies that she shared widely. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Elsa’s memory to the American Heart Association. Friends and family are welcome to attend the Memorial service on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2pm, with visitation at 1pm and a reception to follow, at the Spring Grove Funeral Home-Cedars of Lebanon Chapel, 4389 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45223, Tel: (513) 681.7526.
