North Avondale’s is shining again this spring! Not only are the large blooming trees spectacular, but with the fantastic turnout at our Annual Clean Up day on Saturday, it really looks spring ready in our parks. Thank you to Emily Harten and the North Avondale Beautification Committee, and to all our volunteers and residents for the effort! Also, a big thank you to the Cincinnati Parks, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, and the ToolBank, for their great support of this neighborhood day.
Since North Avondale’s Rose Hill Avenue is being featured at the Cincinnati Preservation Associations (CPA) 2015 Spring House Tour this year, we have taken the opportunity to invite CPA’s Preservation Director Margo Warminski as our special guest at NANA’s annual meeting Sunday, May 17th. She will focus on North Avondale’s history, but will also cover what the Cincinnati Preservation Association does, and which resources are available in the city for preservation of historic homes. Also, Satolli Glassmeyer, President of History in Your Own
Backyard will be there to talk about his History Video Project (featured in the April NANA NEWS). This should be a very interesting session!
As the term for the current board concludes, please join me in expressing much appreciation to the 2014-2015 Executive Board: Michael Caporale, 1st Vice President, Marvin Masterson, 2nd Vice President/Law & Safety; Carolyn Gillman, 3rd Vice President/Block Watch/Membership; Nicole Patitucci, Recording Secretary; Dana Winn, Corresponding Secretary/Code Enforcement; Tom Wright, Treasurer/Strategic Planning and Land Use; and to our Committee Chairs: Beth Ewing, Beautification; Teresa Harten, Health and Wellness; Michelle Baxter, Law and Safety; Pauline Daly, Education and Rental Housing; Mel Nizny, History and John Jones (past NANA President), Neighborhood Issues. Also thank you to Maura Wolf, our NANA/NABA Liaison (past NANA President and Treasurer), who continues to work tirelessly for betterment of our business district and countless other matters, J Miles Wolf, NABA President and our excellent neighborhood photographer, Mike Daly, for leading the Development Committee, and last but not least, to Charlene Morse, our great News Editor. Also, thanks to our committee members and general volunteers for continuing to make North Avondale the best address in Cincinnati!
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the annual meeting on May 17th, and in the meantime, please visit our website northavondalecincinnati.com for general info, committee updates, and to pay your NANA dues online.
