Our Neighborhood Draft Master Plan is Complete

The Draft Master Plan document has been completed by the City’s contractor, Urban Fast Forward (UFF). This project was started in August of 2022. The NANA Executive Board voted to restart a stalled effort begun in 2017 to update the substantially outdated 1974 neighborhood Master Plan by appointing a steering committee. Due to a lack of planning staff, Cincinnati provided North Avondale with consultant help from UFF as part of an earlier support agreement for this project.

The steering committee and UFF have reached out through monthly public meetings and several community outreach workshops to develop a set of key concepts for steering our community to a better future. These concepts were developed into themes, including:

  • Advance a diverse and inclusive neighborhood
  • Preserve, honor and improve existing homes, protect current and future residents
  • Promote a green, walkable and bikeable community connected to the Wasson Way, Clifton and surrounding communities
  • Promote sustainable redevelopment of our business district
  • Improve and connect our parks and greenspaces
  • Promote street and sidewalk safety, enhance equitable public safety and health outcomes
  • Empower community actions and engagement, increase connections with community, non-profit and other civic leaders. Increase involvement in potential control over property development opportunities

The steering committee is currently working with UFF on revising the draft. There will be a public roll-out of the revised draft in the next few months. One example from the draft plan shows a conceptual drawing of an updated Lenox Garage.
