North Avondale families and neighbors joined together to celebrate the holidays at the second NANA Holiday Party which was held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Holloman Center for Social Justice at the Avondale Town Center. The room was decorated with vibrant party décors and a cheery table setting of beautiful red poinsettias and floating candles. The room was scented with the yummy smells of savory culinary bites and sweets to be shared by all. Many neighbors were there to reconnect with friends, sharing stories of their neighbors, families and friends. Even Santa stopped in to visit with the children and adults as well! We heard Santa came through with lots of holiday dreams! A special thank you to Bar 29 for serving refreshments for all to enjoy.
An interesting treat for all was Beth Sullebarger joining us to update everyone on the progress of the North Avondale Historic Designation. Beth heads a woman-owned Historic Preservation consulting firm based in Glendale, Ohio. Her 40+ years of experience include service on the City of Cincinnati Historic Conservation Board, the Ohio Historic Sites Preservation Advisory Board, and the Glendale Planning & Historic Preservation Commission. Thank you Beth for all of your support in this effort.
The evening echoed with laughter and cheerful chatter. The turnout was impressive, featuring not only familiar faces but also some new members of our community. The sense of community in the Center for Social Justice was truly special, and the holiday party was a perfect opportunity for everyone to come together. NANA offers a special thank you to our friends at the Center for Social Justice for sharing such a lovely space, and to all neighbors that helped in the setup and cleanup.
As we step into the new year, let’s carry with us the joy and camaraderie experienced at the party. It’s events like these that strengthen our community bonds and remind us of the wonderful neighborhood of which we are a part. Here’s to many more successful gatherings in 2025!
