Spotted Lanternfly Infestation

I found nymphs of the Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) in my yard. This invasive species can damage several agricultural crops and plants. The infestation has now reached Southern Ohio and Hamilton County. You can find information on how to respond here: https://agri.ohio.gov/divisions/plant-health/invasive-pests/invasive-insects/slf

If you spot a Spotted Lanternfly or another invasive species, we encourage you to report it using the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Ohio Plant Pest Reporter by uploading a photo and providing the location where it was found:https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/1b36dd2cf09e4be0a79776a6104ce1dc

Also, the SLF thrives on the tree of heaven (Ailanthus), which is itself an invasive species, as well as wild grapevine. If you are able to remove these invasive plants from your property, doing so may help protect native flora and reduce suitable habitat for the Spotted Lanternfly.
