It’s time to explore your urban waterway. The Mill Creek runs right through the heart of Cincinnati and is packed with nature – beavers, herons, many species of fish and invertebrates – but also bears the scars from human development and degradation. Come see the tug of war between humans and nature playing out before your eyes. (Hint: Nature is very resilient, and Mother Nature always bats last.)
This trip will cover about 1.7 miles of creek starting in Evendale paddling about 1 hour down to Reading. Feel free to extend your trip by stopping to play or explore along the way. At the end of the route, paddlers can catch a ride in our van back to the put-in. In addition, paddlers could stage a bicycle at the takeout before canoeing and pedal back to the start (on street, no bike trail).
