Please please plan to attend the Master Plan meeting Thursday, February 1, 2024, 7:00 PM at the North Avondale Recreation Center to hear our guest speaker, Beth Johnson, Executive Director of the Cincinnati Preservation Association. Beth comes to CPA from her position as the Urban Conservator for the City of Cincinnati, a position she held for more than six years. She also worked in preservation and planning for the City of Covington, KY as well as the cities of San Antonio and Austin, TX. Johnson is a graduate of Ball State University where she received a degree in Urban Planning and History with a minor in Historic Preservation. She received her Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation planning from Cornell.
The master plan team is meeting on the first Thursdays of each month. Anyone with planning or outreach experience would be a great fit for this group. Meetings run monthly.
The North Avondale Master Plan was originally written in 1974 and the North Avondale Reading Rd. Urban Design in 1995. The new project team will be working with City of Cincinnati planner, Gabrielle “Abby” Couch, and other members of or community to revise/update the plan which can be reviewed at https://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/planning/neighborhood-plans/approved-plans/.
