President’s Message – July 2025

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb

Dear North Avondale Family,

June carried a spirit of momentum. We held our first committee meeting with the newly elected board and chairs, and let me tell you, the energy was something special. The ideas flowed. The passion was real. You could feel the care in the room. These are the kinds of leaders you want beside you when you’re building something meaningful.

We also honored Juneteenth together, a day full of joy, reflection, and remembrance. It reminded us that healing, progress, and unity all live in the same breath. That’s the heart of North Avondale.

As we move through July, I’m inviting you to lean in. Join a committee. Come to an event. Wave at someone new. Your presence, just as you are, makes this place better.

And speaking of events, don’t miss one of our summer favorites:
🎻 The Brady Block Party with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra
📍 North Avondale Recreation Center Fields
📅 Friday, July 18 at 6:30 PM
Music, laughter, neighbors, and that sweet summer breeze? Yes, please.

We’re also making steady progress on our Historic Designation process, with sincere thanks to Matt and Beth for their dedication. This work matters. It protects what makes North Avondale so uniquely ours.

Before I close, I want to pause and thank Rosalind Fultz, our outgoing Recording Secretary. Roz, your diligence, grace, and follow-through kept us grounded. We’ll miss you more than you know. If you, or someone you know, feels called to serve in that role, reach out. We’d love to welcome another thoughtful soul to the table.

There’s so much more ahead, and this newsletter is full of ways to plug in. Because when we show up for each other, we all rise.

With Gratitude,

Dawn Johnson | NANA President
