Spring is Here and that Means it’s Time for The New School Montessori’s Annual Walkathon!

A part of TNSM’s culture is to promote a spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism in our student body. Our students volunteer at organizations to help areas that have been affected by natural disasters. Our (9-12) students raise money to donate to a non-profit of their choosing. The (6-9) classrooms have gathered important items for the Ronald McDonald House guests to use during their family member’s hospital stay. Our whole school has participated in collecting food and clothing for communities in need and our families have gathered to make and deliver lunches for homeless shelters. All of this connects to our mission to foster good citizens and broaden our awareness of our global community.

The walkathon is a perfect opportunity for students to feel empowered by helping a place that they love. Parent volunteers are invited to participate, helping us along the walking route by cheering along participants, passing out lap stickers and by passing out fruit and water snacks at comfort stations. It’s a wonderful way for our community to celebrate our campus, our beautiful neighborhood and our proud student walkers!
