Washington Triangle Update
Can you believe the transformation of the Washington triangle garden? As these pictures show, look what happens when a community comes together, working really hard, to create something beautiful!! I would like to thank Judy Evans, community garden chair, and Megan Rothe and Terry Byczkowski, Garden cochairs, and all of the members from the Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist church for their work over the past 3 to 4 Sunday mornings. Wow!! We are also grateful to Cecil Thomas, not pictured here, for his willingness to share his hose and water supply all summer for this garden! Getting the weeds under control from this severely neglected corner has been a priority for this garden in 2022. The gardeners are hopeful that they are successful and can begin to plant in the garden next spring.
Next workdays are Sunday, October 9th and 16th from 9 am to noon – please come out and help.
Litter
We continue to search for someone who is interested in keeping North Avondale clean as our litter chair person. We do have people to help but are looking for someone to lead. Please let Jolene Struebbe know if you might be interested.
Flower Pots
By the time you read this, hopefully you will be enjoying the new plantings in the flower pots along Reading Road as well as their redistribution along Reading Road. We are very grateful to the Cincinnati Parks for their help in making this happen!
Seasongood Park
Cincinnati Parks and the Madtree volunteers have trimmed up the trees, pruned, and freshly mulched to make this park as beautiful as it has been in ages! Be sure to use it and enjoy the playground too. We are beyond thrilled at how responsive Cincinnati Parks has been in working with your North Avondale beautification committee and we thank them!
End of season garden luncheon
The Beautification Committee is sponsoring an October luncheon for our garden captains and co-captains to thank them for keeping all of our community gardens looking beautiful. Please consider gardening with us next year.
Use of a truck needed
Help Wanted for someone with a truck that could help us with some of our garden pick-ups. Hopefully there might just be someone in the neighborhood that has a truck and would be willing to help with mulch, etc. It would be nice to have a few people to call upon. Contact Judy Evans
