President’s Message: October 2022

Dear Neighbors,

Woooooow! Fall has officially begun with the cool temperatures and the start of our lovely fall colors. Halloween will be here soon. Please step outside and take in our beautiful neighborhood with your friends and neighbors. Winter will be following close behind!

The September NANA monthly meeting started our schedule off with a BANG. Remco DeJong, our neighbor on Beechwood explained his “Home Solar Power” project. There was a great crowd that came with questions and had a lively discussion between neighbors about trees, sunshine and electric loads.

The NANA Events Committee will hold the Festival of Leaves, Saturday October 8th from 1-5 pm at the North Avondale Recreation Center parking lot and playfields. There will be food and ice cream trucks, face painting, roaming magician, bouncy castle house, petting zoo (3:30-5:00 pm only) and a kid’s arts and crafts area. Please bring your blanket and/or chairs and enjoy the festival with your family and neighbors. We still need volunteers please sign up on the sign up genie here or reach out to Beth Ewing (betha.ewing@gmail.com).

In case you missed this information, our NANA Board members were hard at work submitting ideas for Community Budget Requests for FY24/25 with the City of Cincinnati’s Planning Division. This resulted in three potential projects:

  • North Avondale Streetscape
  • NA Recreation Center Playfields and Playset and Multi-modal transportation Center
  • Revitalize Seasongood Square-put on hold because the Parks notified us that they may have exciting news! More to come as we learn about this opportunity

There are so many ways to get involved in our neighborhood. Please consider giving back and volunteering a few hours each month. You can also visit the website and make a donation. We need your support.
