Dear Neighbors,
As we begin October, I’d like to reflect on our recent meeting and the momentum we’re building for the rest of the year. Our neighborhood has made great strides, especially with the Historic Preservation Project. I want to extend a special thanks to Matthew Cornell for taking the lead on this initiative and for finding our consultant. We’re excited to move forward and engage more homeowners from both sides of Reading Road for this important project.
I’m also pleased to announce that Jennifer Harten has been elected as our new 2nd Vice President and will chair the Beautification Committee. Her leadership will be key as we continue beautification initiatives throughout the community.
We’ve also made headway on our Community Budget Requests, which include projects like connecting Winding Way to Wasson Way, improving Seasongood Square and MLK Parks and upgrading the North Avondale Recreation Center.
The Connected Communities Task Force has continued to focus on key initiatives like parking, infrastructure and affordable housing. As always, we aim to ensure North Avondale maintains its character while growing thoughtfully.
As we welcome October and fall begins to set in, I am reminded of the crisp air and changing colors that bring such beauty to our neighborhood. It’s a time of reflection and renewal and I’m grateful to share these moments with such a wonderful community.
