Thanks to all the volunteers and to Cincinnati Parks for a successful tree planting during frigid weather on December 6th. Four volunteers from the neighborhood, four Xavier students, and one member of Quaker Community Friends gathered with three Cincinnati Parks partners to plant 10 trees at the Victory Parkway Greenspace. We’ll look forward to seeing those trees in bud next spring and beyond. We hope you all will come out, take a walk around the park and enjoy them too. We planted these 10 trees: 2 red maples, 2 redbuds, 2 dawn redwoods, a shingle oak, a weeping baldcypress (!!!), and 2 tulip poplars. These have been added to the 29 trees we planted in 2022 and the 19 in 2023.
Here are a couple of my favorite tree quotes to add to your enjoyment:
“Love is like a tree, it grows of its own accord, it puts down deep roots into our whole being.” –Victor Hugo
“Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive. Can we ever forget that? Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish.” — Munia Khan
