Meet The New School Montessori’s New Interim Director

We are pleased to introduce you to TNSM’s interim director Kristin Patterson. Her career as a Montessori leader is defined by over two decades of commitment to school administration, teacher development, and educational operations. Her journey began in the classroom, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and her 6-9 Montessori credential. These foundational years served as the cornerstone for her nine-year tenure as the Head of School at Central Montessori Academy. In that role, Kristin fostered a mission driven culture, mentored educators, and ensured that authentic Montessori practices remained at the heart of the school community.

Beyond her leadership within schools, Kristin brings a robust background in business operations and community advocacy. For the past five years, she has served as the Educational Director for Montessori n’ Such, sharpening her skills in organizational management, supply chain logistics, and strategic problem-solving. This professional path has been further enriched by her 20-year service on the Cincinnati Montessori Society board, where she has worked to strengthen professional networks and support the continued growth of Montessori education throughout the Cincinnati area.

This deep-rooted connection to the local Montessori community extends into Kristin’s personal life as well. As a long-time Cincinnati resident and a mother to a nine-year-old daughter, she finds great joy in a life centered around family, nature, and lifelong learning. When she is not at school, Kristin is often found hiking, exploring local trails, or listening to a favorite audiobook. Whether she is sipping lemonade on her porch or spending quality time with her family, she strives to bring a sense of balance and warmth to everything she does, rooted in the belief that strong communities are built on a foundation of joy, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the child.
