Hi Neighbors,
With the weather warming up and the vaccine doing its work in my body I am feeling like a cicada ready to emerge! We may not be officially part of Brood X, but I feel like we are all sharing that similar feeling of a significant return to life. After a year holed up in our homes, this summer will surely be one to remember!
There are many things planned for our neighborhood already with more to come. The kick off to this new NANA year is our Annual Meeting on 5/23. Please join us for a recap of neighborhood happenings this year, the election of officers to the NANA board and plans for the year ahead. Our yearly gathering will be followed the next weekend by the North Avondale Food Truck Festival on 5/30. This outdoor event will allow everyone to maintain social distancing and feel comfortable while enjoying the first weekend of summer. More details to follow soon!
The start of the new board term is also a great time for you to get involved with NANA! We are still looking for folks to be a part of our committees or head new committees. This is a great way to begin volunteering with NANA and seeing what it is like to be on the board. We also encourage everyone to attend our monthly general body meetings. Hopefully soon we will be able to gather in person again, but we also want to keep the digital component to the meetings so that we can keep participation high. We welcome all members of the community to attend the meetings and contribute ideas for our neighborhood. NANA is all of us and the more engaged neighbors we have, the more we can do together!
Thank you for your participation and thank you to the NANA Executive Board and committees for all their hard work this year.
