Queen City Book Bank Celebrates their 250th Little Free Library

On October 2nd, Queen City Book Bank celebrated their 250th Little Free Library at 720 E Mitchell Avenue. This Little Free Library is hosted by retired librarian, Connie Harris. Connie is a neighborhood engagement and community literacy advocate who became acquainted with Queen City Book Bank through her volunteerism with Reading Bears, a group of passionate individuals in Avondale devoted to connecting children with reading. Connie’s passion for reading makes her the perfect person to host this neighborhood hub. “Reading is like breathing to me,” she said. “I want to share that with others in my community!”

Queen City Book Bank launched Little Free Library’s to expand book access and foster community and have placed libraries in communities across the tri-state area.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was celebrated with remarks from Queen City Book Bank’s CEO Michelle Otten Guenther with community members and local media in attendance.
