  • Summer Hours: open Monday through Friday 7 am to 7pm

  • Evening Open play Pickleball on Thursday nights from 5-7pm. Membership required
  • Beginner Open Pickleball and Lessons on Wednesday mornings from 10am-noon.

  • Summer S.T.E.A.M. Specialty Camp.
    • 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday ($150.00/week)
    • Campers must be enrolled weekly.
    • To enroll, a minimum of $100/child is due at registration.

  • North Avondale STEM program
    • Week-long (half day) camp for 6th-8th graders will provide hands-on experiences building robots and understanding how robotics and coding concepts work. The camp curriculum facilitates Ohio Computer Science and Technology Standards. Throughout the week, youth will experience what it is like to be an engineer or computer scientist through fun, engaging challenges. They will also be encouraged to think about how robotics and computer science have impacted the global world and their own communities.
    • This camp is offered in partnership with the Engineering College at Miami University and sponsored by the Duke Energy Foundation.
  • Camps for champs
    • Sports offered: Soccer, Baseball & Softball, Basketball, Flag Football and Volleyball
    • K-2 grade = $30/week; 3-6 grade = $40/week
  • Tai Chi class Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Membership required plus fee $50 per month, $7 per class

Congratulations to 7 Star Dragon Students MJ Hartnell, Kevin Hartnell, Devlin Kennedy and Emmy Schulert  on winning 9 medals at the Louisville Championship Regional Sports Tournament in Lousiville, Kentucky, Saturday, May 21, 2022. The team was victorious in Kata (forms), Weapons forms and Kumite (sparring). 

 A special congrats to Emmy Schulert who experienced her first competition and accomplished a 7 Star Dragons record, by being the first student to place 2nd in an intermediate division in their first competition.

Thank you to all our students, CRC, and parents who continue to support us. Karate continues through the summer on Tuesdays 5:30-7:30 pm. Regular schedule will resume in September 2022. Registration is available on line at:  http://7stardragonskarate.com/

We are proud to announce Justin Rasheed, his father and brother, are featured in an exhibition, Black and Brown Faces featuring Cincinnati artist, at The Cincinnati Art Museum. Justin is a straight A student at North Avondale Montessori. Congratulations Justin and Mr. Gee Horton!

Tennis – NJTL (National Junior Tennis and Learning)

The North Avondale Rec Center (and others) are holding free tennis lessons all summer.

The Cincinnati Recreation Commission NJTL program is provided through a donation from the charitable arm of the Western & Southern Open – Tennis for Charity. This free program is for children ages 7-14 who want to learn the tennis basics. Players with little to no experience are welcome. Children are taught the basics through a game and instruction format. Health, nutrition, and life skills information is also part of the program.

Tennis rackets, balls, court time and group instruction are provided free of charge.

The program will be offered at Kuliga Park, Mt. Airy, Monfort Heights, Mt. Washington, North Avondale, Oakley, Pleasant Ridge. Practice times will vary based on grade level and location. NJTL will begin the week of June 13 and end the week of August 8. This program is free and tennis racquets will be provided if needed.

We will also be offering tennis at College Hill for youth in Kindergarten and 1st grade!

  • Free La Soupe Frozen meals available Weds after 2:45 pm until gone. This is for anyone who may need a meal in our surrounding community.

  • Mon & Wed Spin class time has changed for the summer to 6pm – 6:45 pm. $5 for members $7 for nonmembers, punch passes are available. Please reserve your bike ahead of time.
