On July 19, 2024, North Avondale friends and families were the happy recipients of a Brady Block Party, part of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s summer concert series, CSO Brady Block Parties are completely free.
The music and weather were perfect for enjoying the outdoor concert, which was held at the North Avondale Recreation Center. In addition to the lovely music, the CSO provided entertainment for the children, including bouncy rides and arts and craft projects. Everyone also enjoyed food trucks, ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy.
The concert was one of five throughout the summer and the first in North Avondale. The crowd was a melting pot of ages and experiences — reflecting the CSO’s mission of diversity and inclusivity.
“No matter where you live, no matter your age, no matter your race or ethnicity, we want everybody to feel like the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is for me,” said Harold Brown, Chief DEI officer of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

We are writing today to thank the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and their Brady Block Parties Foundation song with the Cincinnati Parks and Recreation Department for the wonderful block party event at the North Avondale Recreation Center. We are still talking about this great neighborhood event.
The entire event from recreational activities for children, information booths and food trucks to the sound, stage tent and accommodations was first rate. The music program was fun and very well planned, including selections from George Gershwin, “The Wiz” and James Brown. The event was well delivered and received by the Avondale and North Avondale communities as well as the North Avondale Montessori magnet school community.
We take pride in our community’s diversity and inclusivity and feel that this event was a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate music and summer. We hope you will consider us for future events.
