●CINCINNATI WATER WORKS LEAD SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
NANA is working with other neighborhood councils (Hyde Park, Evanston and Northside) to alert our residents of a possible issue with the GCWW Lead Replacement program. In 2017 the Cincinnati City Council established a Lead Service Line Replacement Program. Private home owners were to share the replacement cost with GCWW. Since the December 15, 2021 program change, the entire cost of replacing the lead water pipe is now borne exclusively by the GCWW.
- Did you pay to have the lead service pipe replaced in your home between 2017 and December 15, 2021?
- Did you pay when the work was completed or was the amount added to your property tax?
If you believe you are an affected property owner who paid for lead water pipe replacement and you want to get more information on the GCWW Lead Replacement program and/or support the grass roots group that is working to get refunds for impacted property owners, please contact leadpiperefund@gmail.com. ●Tree Planting at the Victory Parkway Greenspace.
November 18 was a great day at the Victory Parkway Greenspace. We planted 28 good sized trees of 13 different species and surrounded each with protective fencing. Thanks goes to Cincinnati Parks and 45 volunteers, mostly freshman, from Moeller High. Allen Kroth and I represented the neighborhood. How amazing it will be to watch these trees grow and fill out the canopy over the years: habitat for wildlife, helping clean and cool water and air, and providing some much needed nature therapy for us all. Come stop by and take a look for yourself. How satisfying!
