Hello neighbors! We are rounding third and heading for home on our North Avondale Historic District initiative. Our consultant has completed several in person events and Q & A sessions to build a set of Historic Guidelines as well as done weeks of research to complete the Designation Report. Below you will find (4) links:
- North Avondale Historic District Designation Report
- North Avondale Historic District Conservation Guidelines
- North Avondale Historic District Boundary Map
- NAHD letter of support (we hope you print and return digitally or in person)
Please reach out to us if you have questions/concerns or any added history you can document. Our hope is to collect as many letters of support based on the documents above to bolster our application to the City. You can download and print that letter and return in person, email to me matthewgcornell@gmail.com or you can let me know if you’re having trouble doing so.
I want to thank all of our volunteers and donors for helping make this happen. Our next steps are to gather support letters and start the multistep submission to the city. There are several hurdles to go, but so far we have had so much grassroots support, I think we are confident our residents will be there to see this through. If you are disappointed that the boundary does not include your property as there are more historic areas than we were able to include in this submission, fear not, there are efforts underway to follow up this application with an expansion or second district. Feel free to let us know your address, contact info and your willingness to ask your immediate neighbors for their support.
Regards,
Matthew Cornell
